How padrinos can share the cost of quinceañera photography and film

Three padrinos and a quinceañera's mom at a table working out on a phone how much each one pays for the photo and video coverage

How to split the payment when several padrinos cover photo and video

Several padrinos can split quinceañera photo and video equally or by item, but one person signs the contract and a $500 deposit holds the date. The rest is paid in installments and settled one month before the party, so every padrino needs to know today how much they owe and by when.

Being the photo and video padrino is a gift that lasts: the album and the film are still there long after the decorations are gone. If you came here from the padrino section of our Phoenix quinceañera packages (opens in a new tab), this is the full explanation.

What a photo and video padrino can cover at a quinceañera

A padrino can give the whole package or just one part. Both work, as long as everyone knows who covers what.

  • The whole package, shared: two, three or four padrinos split the price equally.
  • One item each: one padrino covers the base package and others give items added to the contract, such as the album or the Online Video Streaming Experience.
  • A photo session: if the family already has event coverage, a padrino can give a quinceañera session before the party.

How much each padrino pays, by package

This is each package price split into equal shares, rounded up to the dollar, the same way our calculator does it.

Package Price Split by 2 Split by 3 Split by 4
Photo only or video only, Essential$1,250$625$417$313
Essential Package$2,150$1,075$717$538
Complete Package$3,250$1,625$1,084$813
Deluxe Package$4,995$2,498$1,665$1,249

To try a different number of padrinos, the budget calculator splits the price among as many as you enter and shows the result without asking for your email.

Who signs the contract when there are several padrinos

The contract is signed by one responsible person. We recommend the person organizing the party, usually the quinceañera's mom or dad, because they're the one making decisions with our team.

That person sends the timeline one month before the event, asks for changes in writing, stays with the quinceañera during the pre-event session (an adult must be present with anyone under 18) and picks the photos online within 4 weeks after the party. If a padrino who isn't part of those decisions signs the contract, everything slows down.

You review and sign the contract on your phone. Signing and paying the deposit are separate steps: the family signs without rushing, and the date is held once the $500 deposit arrives. To see what a photo and video contract should say, read what to include in the contract.

How to organize the payment among padrinos

  1. Choose the package and the total price together

Before anyone talks about shares, decide on the package, so everyone is working from the same number.

  2. Decide who signs and who collects the money

One person signs and makes the payments. The padrinos give their share to that person, who pays and keeps the receipts.

  3. Put the split in writing

A message in the family group chat is enough: who pays how much, for which item and by which date.

  4. Pool the $500 deposit to hold the date

The deposit holds the date for you alone and goes toward the total. You can all chip in, or one person pays it and it comes off their share.

  5. Set an internal deadline before the final payment

The balance is due one month before the party. Ask each padrino for their share a few weeks before that, so nobody is scrambling.

  6. Share every receipt with the padrinos

After each installment, the photo of the receipt goes to the group, so everyone sees what's left.

The $500 deposit and the final payment one month out

The $500 deposit holds the date and counts toward the total; it isn't an extra charge. The rest is paid in installments, and everything is settled one month before the event. For example, for a party in mid-October, the final payment is due in mid-September; your contract gives the exact date.

If you want to add a second photographer or videographer, for example because you're celebrating two quinceañeras, it's booked no later than the final payment date.

This is what every padrino should know before handing over their share:

  • If the family cancels 4 months or more ahead, only the $500 deposit is lost.
  • If it cancels with less than 4 months to go, everything paid is lost, including the padrinos' shares.
  • The date can be moved once, with 4 months' notice or more, if the new date is open.

What happens if a padrino can no longer pay their share

The contract doesn't change because a padrino drops out: the balance stays the same and the person who signed is still responsible. That's why it's better to talk about it as soon as it happens, not the week of the final payment.

Three ways families handle it: another padrino takes that share, the others split it, or the family covers it. If you need to go over your case with us, text (602) 753-7969 before the final payment date.

Questions from photo and video padrinos

How much does it cost to be the photo and video padrino at a quinceañera?

It depends on the package and on how many padrinos share it. With IAZ, photo and video together start at $2,150; split between two padrinos, that's $1,075 each.

Can padrinos pay in installments?

Yes. A $500 deposit holds the date and the rest is paid in installments, in full one month before the event.

What happens to the padrinos' money if the party is canceled?

With 4 months or more of notice, only the $500 deposit is lost. With less than 4 months, everything paid is lost, including the padrinos' shares.

Can a padrino give just the album or the streaming?

Yes. The album runs from $400 to $750 and the Online Video Streaming Experience is $450; both are added to the family's contract.
