Quinceañera photos at Old Tucson can be planned, but only with the park's permission first

Yes, you can do quinceañera photos at Old Tucson, but today you can't just show up and buy a ticket: on the day we checked its official site, the park wasn't open for general daytime entry and offered only guided tours and night tours. To photograph outside those hours, the park itself requires permission from its management first, so step one is writing to them.

Step two is the trip: in Tucson you're served by IAZ Photo Studio, our site for all of Arizona (opens in a new tab), at the same prices, and travel is quoted and signed before the date.

What a quinceañera session that ended at Old Tucson taught us

Years ago, a family hired us for a session among the Tucson landscapes and rented a bus so big that it couldn't take the mountain road we had chosen. We ended up at Old Tucson, where entry had a cost nobody had planned for, and the staff kindly gave a few passes to the quinceañera, two relatives and the photographer while the rest of the group waited outside.

That afternoon left us three practices we now apply to every session outside our area:

  • The spot is confirmed before the date, with its hours, rules and entry cost. Nobody should find out at the ticket window.
  • The transportation has to reach where the photos happen. A big bus carries many guests, but it doesn't always fit on a narrow road or stop where the shot is.
  • Site costs go in writing. Parking, entry fees and reservations are the family's to cover. It isn't our charge: whoever runs the place sets it.

How to ask Old Tucson for permission for a quinceañera session

  1. Write to group sales with your date and group size

Old Tucson takes group requests through a form on its groups page (opens in a new tab), by email at groupsales@oldtucson.com or by phone at (520) 883-0100 (checked November 7, 2026). Tell them it's a quinceañera photo session and give them the date, the time you'd like and how many people would come in.

  2. Ask in writing which areas, what hours and the per-person cost

Ask for an email that says which areas you can use, at what time, how much each ticket costs and whether video or a drone is allowed.

  3. Decide who goes in and how everyone gets there

If the park limits the number of people, choose first those who can't be missing: the quinceañera, the adult with her and whoever helps with the gown. If you're renting transportation, confirm the vehicle can reach and park at 201 S. Kinney Road.

  4. Send us the park's confirmation so we can quote the trip

With the date, the approved hours and the number of people, we send you the session quote with travel, in writing.

  5. Sign the contract and hold the date with the deposit

A $150 non-refundable deposit holds the session, and the rest is paid 48 hours before. If weather forces a new date, there's no fee on our side; Old Tucson has its own rules for changing ticket dates, and its site warns there may be charges.

Travel to Tucson is quoted separately and agreed before the date

There is no travel fee for sessions within 25 driving miles of Tempe, Arizona (I-10 and US-60). Old Tucson is much farther, so we quote the travel before you book, on top of the session package.

For a full party, the event rule applies: no travel fee within 50 driving miles of Tempe, Arizona (I-10 and US-60). Tucson is beyond that, so the full distance is also quoted in writing.

Add the park's charges and your group's transportation to the budget, and pick the hour with the guide to choosing the hour for a photo session.
